So I have been doing research on forming my business, but I have also been doing a lot of candle research.  I have made a good number of gel and soy (my other favorite) candles but I know I am no expert.  And all I have made have been container candles.  These are and will continue to be my favorites, but I would like to learn how to make pillars and votives and expand beyond that as well.  So, I have joined the IGCA and starting chatting with other candle makers as well as doing research online.  I have some books I have been reading on candles as well.  I can just never get enough of the subject.  I have started ordering some new supplies to try some new projects.  I also ordered some videos from a supply company.  There are some techniques I would like to “see” done and I can’t wait to watch the videos.  There just aren’t enough hours in the day!

This past week I ordered a kit to make rose votive candles.   They make beautiful long stem roses and I can’t wait to try them in exciting colors.  They make great gifts (I gave one as a gift already) and it is an easy enough project to do in my (short) spare time.  I have a request for two more that I will be making this week.  I have a wedding to attend in October and am brainstorming ideas for some beautiful gifts for that.  It is fun to get the candle juices flowing again.
