Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Here is hoping your day is filled with family, fun and lots of love. I had a lot of fun creating all the Valentines products this year. Nothing says romance like low lighting and candlelight and I know I plan to have many a candle lit tonight! Especially on a cold winter’s night, the warm glow just sets the perfect mood.  I have my heart jar candle in Strawberries and Cream all ready to go.

Whew! It has been one of those weeks where my wax and my candle mold were just not cooperating. Every specialty votive I made had pieces break off in the mold. And I have used this combination many times before. I finally had to try another wax and test with that one. For now that seems to be working well. Not sure why the other wax and mold stopped playing nice but just some of the trials and tribulations of candle making!

Can you believe it is 2012?? It has been a busy, but great full year of business for Jaxx Candles. We had many goals that were achieved and look forward to setting and meeting new goals in 2012. We have big plans again this year to continue the growth of our business.

Year In Review

So 2011 was a busy, but productive and fun year. We started early in the year by introducing our products at The Blue Door at Lake Shore and being a part of their inaugural year.

We also participated in an Open House with Cross Creek Candies and enjoyed getting to meet many people at this fun event. We also participated in our first quarter auction as a vendor and learned a lot as well as helped out a good cause.

Our Facebook page was launched and we now have over 700 fans, thanks to blog reviews and many other venues for reaching new customers. We also enhanced our Etsy shop throughout the year and will continue to do so in 2012.

We participated in craft shows at Downs Memorial Park, the Maryland Yacht Club and holiday craft events through Synergy Fitness. We hope to serve a lot of our new friends in the new year.

In review, 2011 was a good year with a lot of events, new product development, and expansion of our online presence. In 2012 we plan to continue those avenues of business growth as well as enhance our online sales presence through additional sales sites, expand the number of brick and mortar shops offering our products, increase our Facebook and Twitter presence, share more info on our blog, and increase our customer base around the globe. We are looking forward to the hard work (and fun!) as we continue to expand our business. We hope you will join us for the ride into the new year and become a part of our further growth and success.

It is Thanksgiving Eve and the holiday hustle and bustle is already in the air. The temps outside are mild right now (except the rain we have been having), but we are in full swing for the holiday season. The holidays have crept up quickly! I am working on products for a Shop Til You Drop event on the 4th! So this weekend will be very busy indeed. Whew! I don’t know where the days are going. I did the Holiday Showcase last night and it went well. Pictures coming soon. Some new holiday products have been listed and more are on the way soon. Well not only have I been trying to test and make fall products, but the air turned quite chilly here today. All signs that the fall season is just about upon us.
